Condition

The canvas has been relined. The paint surface, with fine cracquelure throughout, is largely secure except for a small area of paint loss (approx 1 cm. diameter) lower left. There are retouchings and strengthenings throughout visible to the naked eye, especially to the sky and the centre of the landscape, and the most recent retouchings fluoresce clearly under UV light. Offered in a carved and gilt wood frame with substantial losses on all sides.
