- oil on panel
Condition
The single flat panel is stable and uncradled and bevelled on all four edges. The paint surface is in very moderate condition and the picture has been fairly heavily restored throughout. Inspection under UV light reveals that all of the background and the area around the slices of orange have recently been repainted. Some parts, however, are reasonably preserved such as the leaves, the pear, the orange, the cherries and the gooseberries. The varnish layer is thick but uneven. Offered in a later stained wood frame in the Dutch style with a gilt sight edge in good condition.
