"The following condition report has been provided by Henry Gentle, an independent restorer who is not an employee of Sotheby's. The oak panel is in a well preserved condition but does have a horizontal join and two horizontal cracks extending in from the right hand edge; these are reinforced. There is a certain amount of restoration along them denoting minor paint loss here. Apart from a few minor restorations elsewhere the painting is in good original, preserved condition. Removing the moderately discoloured varnish would improve the overall tonality. Offered in a modern dark wood frame in good condition."
