Condition
"The following condition report has been provided by Henry Gentle, an independent restorer who is not an employee of Sotheby's.
The original canvas is lined, the paint is stable but raised. There has been significant instability of the paint layer in the past which has led to loss throughout the surface and subsequent extensive restoration. The flesh tones of the figures are affected less than the rest of the painting but there is still evidence of discoloured restoration here. No tonal benefit would be achieved by the removal of the varnish.
Offered in a plain moulded and gilt wood frame in good condition."
