"The following condition report has been provided by Henry Gentle, an independent restorer who is not an employee of Sotheby's. The original canvas is lined; there is a central horizontal stretcher mark with restored loss and a possible horizontal seam at the top. Pin prick loss of paint is visible across the entire surface, some of this is reduced, and areas of abrasion to the thinly painted shadows are evident. The fluid, sketchy quality of the paint is well preserved and the impasto is intact. The varnish is only slightly discoloured. Offered in plain moulded gilt wood frame in good condition."
