Condition

"The following condition report has been provided by Henry Gentle, an independent restorer who is not an employee of Sotheby's. The sky, including the clouds, has been substantially repaired in the upper left and right sections. The bottom section, including along the edge, has significant restoration and the cow, sheep and dog(?) have been added. The central section of the painting which includes some of the sky and the foliage is in a good well preserved condition, almost throughout. The varnish is degraded and discoloured and its removal would improve the overall tonality. Offered in a black painted and gilt frame in good condition."
"This lot is offered for sale subject to Sotheby's Conditions of Business, which are available on request and printed in Sotheby's sale catalogues. The independent reports contained in this document are provided for prospective bidders' information only and without warranty by Sotheby's or the Seller."
