Condition
"The following condition report has been provided by Henry Gentle, an independent restorer who is not an employee of Sotheby's.
The oak panel is in a good flat and stable condition and the paint surface is secure; there is visible discoloured augmentation to the sky, where small white cracks have been reduced , and to shadows of the sea where a flatness pervades. Rigging to the boats has been strengthened. Impastoed paint to the highlights remains well preserved and removal of the discoloured varnish would enhance the tonality.
Offered in a burr wood and gilt frame in good condition."
