Condition

"The following condition report has been provided by Henry Gentle, an independent restorer who is not an employee of Sotheby's. The panel is in very good condition, without deformations or splits. The paint surface is flat and stable. There has been some paint loss around the edges which has been retouched out. The paint surface is in very good original condition, the colours are strong, saturate well and are un-abraded. Some of the shadows e.g. the one beneath the carnation and to the right of the grapes, have a small filigree of pale shrinkage cracks which have broken up the surface and have been augmented as a consequence. There are one or two small restorations where minor loss has occurred but overall the painting is in very good condition. Offered in a gilt wood frame, in good condition"
"This lot is offered for sale subject to Sotheby's Conditions of Business, which are available on request and printed in Sotheby's sale catalogues.
