"The following condition report has been provided by Henry Gentle, an independent restorer who is not an employee of Sotheby's. The oak panel has two horizontal restored joins and a repaired split, central left. There is augmentation to some of the darker passages, particularly the foreground, and the remains of a blanched varnish visible. The impastoed paint of the central section, including the figures, is in a good , well preserved condition. Removing the varnish would improve the overall tonality. Offered in a gilt wood frame."
