"The following condition report has been provided by Henry Gentle, an independent restorer who is not an employee of Sotheby's. The oak panel is in good with a slight deformity across the picture plane. The paint layer is raised and unstable in some areas, and under Ultra-Violet light one or two small restorations can be seen to previous paint losses. Some of the more vulnerable areas, such as the background colour to the garland and some of the red glazes to the flowers, have been abraded. Overall, in a good untouched condition with preserved paint texture and crisp details. The removal of the degraded and discoloured varnish would improve the tonality."
