Description
- a still life of a dead duck, a turkey, pigeons and other birds, together with a young lady holding a basket with songbirds, and a cat guarding the catch;a hunting still life of a dead hare, pigeons, pheasants and other birds, together with a dog and a young boy holding a riffle
- a pair, both oil on canvas
Condition
Both paintings are in life a bit warmer in tone than the catalogue illustration suggests.
Both canvases are relined and stretcher marks are slightly visible to the front. Both show minor frame abrasion. In both paintings the paint surface has flattened, but is stable, no damages are visible to the naked eye. The varnish layer is at places dirty and discoloured.
Inspection under UV-light is obstructed by the varnish layer, however the fleshtones of the young woman seems to have been retouched.
Offered in two decorative dark wood frames, in good condition. (JD)
