Condition
"The following condition report has been provided by Henry Gentle, an independent restorer who is not an employee of Sotheby's.
The canvas is lined and the paint layer is stable but raised in places; there is a seam running vertically down the left hand side. The impasto and texture to the still life is in good condition and the colours are strong and un-abraded. There are some restored thinnesses to the background and other restored minor paint losses elsewhere across the surface. Generally, in a well preserved, untouched state; the removal of the varnish would improve the tonality."
"This lot is offered for sale subject to Sotheby's Conditions of Business, which are available on request and printed in Sotheby's sale catalogues. The independent reports contained in this document are provided for prospective bidders' information only and without warranty by Sotheby's or the Seller."
