Condition
The actual painting is less bright and softer in tone than the catalogue illustration suggests.
The canvas is lined and the paint surface is stable. The paint surface is under a discoloured layer of varnish and there's a fine craquelure throughout, which is slightly beginning to lift in some areas.
Removal of the varnish would improve the tonality. Some small scattered retouchings can be observed in the grapes, left and right, in the drapery lower right, and in the prunes. This is confirmed by inspection under UV-light.
Offered in a decorative carved wood and gilt plaster frame, in fair condition. (MW)
