The actual painting is warmer and less red and pink in tone than the catalogue illustration suggests, and the actual painting shows a lot more detail. The single copper plate is slightly uneven. A small chip is missing in the upper left corner. Tiny paint losses and blemishes can be observed throughout, e.g. upper centre, lower centre, lower right, and along the lower edge. Otherwise, the paint surface seems to be in reasonably good condition. The paint surface is covered with a dirty and dull layer of varnish. Inspection under ultra violet light reveals tiny scattered retouchings in the figures on the left and in the figures on the right. Offered in a plain gilt wood frame with a few losses. (MW)
