Description
- Henri Matisse
- Figure assise, blouse transparente (D. 519)
- Sheet: 648 by 500mm; 25½ by 19 5/8 in
Lithograph, 1929, signed in pencil, numbered 20/25, on japan paper, with full margins, in good condition apart from creasing to the top left corner of sheet, a crease to the lower right tip of sheet.
Condition
As catalogued, the print is in good condition. The crease at upper left is a 2 1/2 inch long sharp diagonal crease in the upper left sheet corner, well away from the image, with shorter and less notable creases just to its left. There is very faint cockling along the left sheet edge at bottom, not extending into the image and measuring no longer than 1/2 inch in horizontal length. The remaining three sheet corners have very slight handling creases, none measuring longer than 1/2 inch or appearing sharp or flattened. Exposure to light over time has very gradually darkened the paper tone.
