Engraving, 1583, a fairly good impression of the first state (of two), on paper with an Arrow and R watermarks, trimmed just outside the borderline, a yellow and a red stain at centre and lower right corners respectively, tears and small repairs mainly at edges of sheet, a central vertical fold and minor handling creases, backed on a thin sheet, slight surface dirt, other minor defects; and PIETA (Holl. 50; S. 331), engraving, 1596, a lightly etched impression of the second (final) state, with margins, a small tear at lower right edge; otherwise in good condition
