Laid down firmly. Two creases in paper bottom right - may have been in papermaking. Slight stain around edges of paper.

Catalogue Note
This extremely delicate and refined drawing is characteristic of Pierre's style. Its high level of finish suggests it was intended as a complete work on its own, but Pierre might have made a print after it, as he did of several of his drawings (see O. Aaron, Cahiers du Dessin français no.9, Jean-Baptiste-Marie Pierre, Paris n.d., nos. 27, 29.
M. Nicolas Lesur has kindly confirmed the attribution from a photograph and suggests a dating around 1755.
