- Recto: an old testament prophet holding a tabletVerso: study for a similar figure
- Black chalk, pen and brown ink and brown wash; recto also with a few touches of red chalk
Condition
The sheet shows evidence of workshop soiling (surface dirt, small stains and minor folds) as well as a tear in the right upper edge, all visible in the illustration. There are also traces of some waterstaining running diagonally through the figure's bent upper leg and also, perhaps, in the voluminous drapery at the left. There are some surfaces losses and overall discoloration on the verso.
Sold in a wood frame with an elaborate foliage border.
