  • Black chalk heightened with white chalk, on buff paper

Condition

Window mounted. A bit less pinkish-brown in tone and generally more legible than in catalogue illustration. Slight remains of old glue and backing around edges, recto. One or two irregularities in paper (visible in illustration). Some light staining, verso.

Catalogue Note

This very attractive drawing has been attributed to Domenichino, but seems closer in the treatment of drapery and in the shading to an artist influenced by Guido Reni.
