  • a view from the outskirts of florence, with a couple washing their linen in the foreground
  • Pen and brown ink over black chalk, within two sets of brown ink framing lines

Provenance

Sale, London, Sotheby's, 4 July 1985, lot 45

Condition

Framed in modern gilt frame. Laid down. There are some small spot stains (visible mainly in the sky), and some surface dirt. A very slight loss to the lower left corner. The ink is a little sunk in parts, but overall the condition is fine and the drawing still makes a good impression.
