Condition
Stuck at top centre and top left corner to backing sheet. Small losses along left edge (in border). Small hole in tree planter at lower right corner. Stain upper left corner. Dappling of grey spots at top left, seem to be grey ink. A bit of surface wear at right edge.

This is said to be a study for a painting formerly in the collection of Marius Paulme, sold Paris, 30 May 1924. A gouache of a somewhat similar subject, signed and dated by Mongin 1792, was sold New York, Sotheby's, 30 April 1982, lot 54, reproduced.
