Condition
Laid down along edges to new mount, verso visible. Various tears which have been repaired with bits of paper stuck on the verso. Bit of stains and wear above arm and on arm towards shoulder with small losses in those areas. Small hole on his right thigh just above bent knee.

Catalogue Note
Mary Newcome Schleier previously confirmed the attribution from a photograph and remarked that the treatment of the features and the foreshortening are characteristic of the artist. The figure may be a study for one of the thieves crucified with Christ.
