Description

  • A prelate, head and shoulders, in three quarter profile
  • oil on paper, laid on canvas

Provenance

Acquired by a Swiss collector in Switzerland in the first half of the 20th century;
By whom gifted to the aunt of the present owner;
Thence by descent.

Condition

The canvas has an effective relining. The paint surface is in fair condition. Inspection under UV light reveals old scattered retouchings, some of which are starting to fade. Offered in a wood and plaster frame with minor knocks.
