Condition
STRUCTURE
The panel is flat, stable and uncradled with a canvas support of approx 8 cm. attached horizontally to the lower portion.
PAINT SURFACE
There is some scattered surface dirt. There is a degree of frame abrasion, most notably to the left and right hand edges. There is a small area of paint loss to the centre right of the panel. A thin horizontal crack following the grain in the panel can be seen to the lower right.
ULTRAVIOLET
There are scattered retouchings, notably to the sky, the darker areas of the sea and along the crack, and these fluoresce under UV light.
FRAME
Held in a gilt wood and plaster frame with some scattered damages.
