Description

  • Christian Georg Schütz the Younger
  • An extensive Rhenish landscape with a ruined arch in the foreground

Condition

The support appears to consist of four horizontal panels. There are two small battens to the reverse of the panel along the central join. The paint surface is generally secure other than some very small losses to the upper right along the panel join. There is some minor frame abrasion lower left. Inspection under UV light reveals some scattered retouchings, notably along the panel joins. Overall the painting is in fair condition. Offered in a later wood and plaster gilt frame.
