Catalogue Note
The present painting is a copy of Ben Marshall's Portrait of Francis Dukinfield Astley, Esq., and his Harriers (30 by 50 in.), painted for the sitter and sold by Christie's, 14th May 1926, lot 82. The gentleman in the black coat and top hat is Mr. Abel Wood and the view beyond is that of the Dukinfield Estate in Cheshire, with Hunter's Tower in the distant centre.
