STRUCTURE The canvas has been lined. PAINT SURFACE The painting appears to be in good condition and has been cleaned. ULTRAVIOLET Examination under ultraviolet light reveals scattered retouching overall and strengthening to the sitter's face and neck. FRAME Held in a gilded wooden frame.
