Condition

STRUCTURE The painting consists of three seperate panels. There is a small section of panel loss lower right PAINT SURFACE There is flacking and scattered paint loss to the surface overall. ULTRAVIOLET Examination under ultraviolet light reveals that there has been some retouching to scattered areas in particular in the left hand panel. Predominantly down the edge of the sitters arm, as well as to the edge of the panel itself. Other than this there is very little, if any, indication of recent retouching to the painting as a whole. FRAME Held in a reproduction carved wood frame, painted black and with a gilded inner boarder.
