Catalogue Note

Sauveur le Conte was the son of Mainfrain Le Conte and worked chiefly as a painter of battle scenes at Versailles. He worked closely with his friend Adam-François van der Meulen (1632-1690) who was godfather to his daughter Claude-Françoise.
