Catalogue Note

We are grateful to Dr. Benito Navarrete Prieto, who, upon examining an image, has suggested an attribution to Simón Vicente and an execution date of circa 1680-90.  Another painting by this artist was sold, Madrid, Castellana 150, February 9, 1999, lot 206.
