Condition
Lined canvas. A vertical seam runs through canvas near the left edge; surface in good condition without craquelure. Two vertical lines of repaint at bottom center ; yellowed varnish. Under UV light: opaque varnish may be masking possible inpainting; some touch-ups to seam are visible.

The present painting is a partial 19th century copy after the portrait of Sir Kenelm Digby with his wife and their two eldest sons: Kenelm and John (see S. Barnes, Van Dyck, A Complete Catalogue of the Paintings, cat. no. IV.94), currently in a private collection.
