The present painting repeats an original work by Domenichino in the Galleria Borghese, Rome.

Lined canvas. Surface is pressed but stable; it is showing numerous repairs to a formerly dry and brittle surface; areas of repair can be seen with the naked eye above the head of the figure, across the center of the canvas and on the figure's chest. The varnish is fairly clean and does not require further work. Under UV light: numerous small retouches throughout the canvas, with the largest areas mentioned above; in addition, touch-ups to her face, hands and chest.
