Catalogue Note
Segato, a chemist by profession, went to Egypt for a commercial firm in 1818. In company with Lorenzo Masi, an engineer, he explored and mapped a large area south of wadi Halfa and the Blue and White Niles. In 1836 and 1837, two octavo volumes of text were published to accompany these plates, entitled Nuova illustratzione istorico-monumentale del Basso e del Alto Egitto.
