An important early oceanographic survey of the Red Sea, including the Gulf of Suez and Gulf of Aqaba, performed by Austrian researchers with the deep sea research vessel "Pola", in 1895-1896 and 1897-1898. The photographs show views along the coasts of Arabia, Egypt, East Africa and Yemen.
