the body of maple with numerous fluted ribs, the table and the soundhole edged with various woods, the latter also with mother of pearl segments set in black mastic, and with an ebony scratch plate, the fingerboard extending over the soundhole, twenty-four frets, the machine heads with rear-facing bone pegs.
