  • Early autograph manuscript of a waltz
a fragment, consisting of the whole of an opening section of a waltz in A major, scored for full orchestra, with autograph title ("Introduction"), notated in brown ink on up to twenty-two staves per page, comprising 29 bars in all



3 pages, folio (c.34 x 27cm), no place or date [c.1840s?], 22-stave paper, possibly original stitching; together with autograph sketches by Offenbach for various unidentified works, written on the blank and partly blank leaves of the same manuscript in pencil and ink (8 autograph leaves in all), a few small tears to upper margin of last leaf, not affecting music
