Description

  • Autograph manuscript signed of the six-part motet "Deus Israel conjungat vos" Op.41
the complete motet, comprising a work in two parts, the first for four voices and the second ("Surge surge!") for six voices, each with a final four-voice codetta ("Invocation"), elegantly notated in dark brown ink, on up to five systems per page, each of up to six staves, the copy for the printer, marked up for the engraver in pencil, with the autograph dedication to the Comte de Chambrun, inscribed by d'Indy with his name at the head and with his dated monogram at the end



4 pages, folio (c.35 x 27cms), 28-stave paper, initial blank inscribed by another hand (the publisher?), no place, April 1896, some browning to margins and outer blanks
