Catalogue Note
Rare. This is an engraved presentation copy of "Siegfried". Only one other presentation copy is recorded, a lithographed issue (apparently contemporary according to WWV, p.386). The dedicatee may have been the German bassoonist Caspar Eichel, who was later said to be a cousin of the composer : see Das Buch der Deutschen in Amerika, (Philadelphia, 1909, p. 176).
