Catalogue Note

A fine autograph musical quotation from the Festival chorus "An die Künstler" (words by Schiller), composed in 1853 and subsequently revised twice. The second version of 1853-4, scored for two tenor and two bass soloists, male choir and orchestra, was dedicated by Liszt to Wagner.
