Catalogue Note
Rex Palmer was one of the early producers for HMV, working with Fred Gaisberg on Elgar's celebrated final gramophone recordings in late 1933, of which Elgar here mentions "the Sonata, IVtet & Vtet"--namely the Violin Sonata, String Quartet and the Piano Quintet (see J. Northrop Moore, Edward Elgar. A Creative Life pp.820-821).
