Description

  • Six autograph letters and one letter signed
written in German and in English, about her concerts in Lyons and Paris in 1863 and requesting copies of Beethoven's Piano Sonatas ("...Ich denke die C moll oder G dur (die Kleine) Sonate von Beethoven werden am besten für eine grössere Gesellschaft passen..."), and two letters by Felix Moscheles, 20 pages, 8vo and 16mo, Düsseldorf, Baden, Lyon and London, 1863-1871 where dated; together with: four autograph letters signed by Moscheles ("I. Moscheles") reporting Joachim's engagement as orchestral leader at Weimar in 1850 ("...Der ausgezeichnete Violinspieler Joachim der hier in grosser Achtung stand, hat einen Ruf nach Weimar also Concertmeister bekommen. Er verlässt uns um 15t October, u[nd] man fürchtet, ihn nicht so leicht ersetzen zu können...") and mentioning Wagner, Garibaldi and Rossini; and one clipped signature of Moscheles, with two letters by Felix Moscheles, Leipzig, 1844-1863
