'Justin Ponmany's practice as a visual artist has always attempted to engage a dense dialogue with technology - or more precisely with technology refracted through the granularities of our cultural habitus....The holographic canvas rendered with industrial grade holograms - cheaper variants of which are found in the tamper-proof stickers on commercial products - has been part of Justin's vocabulary for some time now. The choice of this particular material stems from, as the artist states, his 'readiness to draw from a public/local aesthetics and redirect it back to the public realm via the circuits of private practice.'
