This work appears to be in generally good overall condition. There are some minor cracks on the seashell and on the upper left coco nut. There are few stable craquelures in the seashell inside.

"Anche i (...) "tappeti-natura" non sono nati come quadri, come oggetti da galleria, ma sono nati come proposta per la vita di tutti i giorni: erano veramente pensati come tappeti da mettere in casa e da calpestare. Sotto sotto c'era l'intenzione di far uscire l'arte dagli schemi convenzionali e di farla vivere dentro l'esperienza della quotidianità, con una finzione e un meccanismo di tipo ludico. È però chiaro che l'idea generatrice di quel lavoro scaturiva da una riflessione sulla morte della natura, intesa come metafora delle pulsioni umane, annichilite e vilipese dalla razionalità industriale e metaforicamente rappresentate dal trancio di paesaggio, quasi un cippo alla memoria, che, per ironia della sorte, era fatto di poliuretano, un polimero del tutto artificiale e di non lunga durata."
