Provenance
Acquired in 1951 by a senior diplomat who was based in the Philippines, thence by descent to the present owner.
Condition
The painting is in good condition. The canvas is in good condition with a clear and taut surface. Examination under ultraviolet light reveals abrasion on the edge of the painting.
The paint layers are stable and intact, except for some craquelure on bushes.
The colours of the actual painting are less bright; richer, more vibrant and less yellow. In reality, one can particularly see the play of shadow in the clouds.
