Of shield shape, designed as a stylized pot of flowers, including a carved turquoise flowerhead and 3 carved green tourmaline leaves, studded with round cabochon rubies and accented with old European-cut and single-cut diamonds, on a carved lapis base of stepped outline supported on a gold and ivory enameled plinth, mounted in gold and platinum, signed Cartier, numbered 6619.
Condition
Very good condition with a small chip and a few minute nicks to the white opaque enamel, none of which are readily apparent. Minute abrasions to tips the tourmaline leaves. Very small cavities to the ruby cabochons (seen only under magnification). The diamonds are approximately H-I color, VS-SI clarity. The signature and serial number are on the outside and inside of clip, respectively. Offered with a certificate of authenticity from Cartier, no. NY 2008-30, dated 8/14/2008. The carved flower, while having the appearance of amazonite, is described as turquoise on the certificate.
