JADEITE, YELLOW DIAMOND AND DIAMOND 'BUTTERFLY' BROOCH

The wings decorated with four translucent jadeite carved plaques of emerald green colour, each within conforming frame pavé-set with brilliant-cut yellow diamonds, decorated to the thorax with brilliant-cut diamonds enhanced by an oval rose-cut diamond, the eyes set with red coloured gems, completed by a curled antennae terminated by a brilliant-cut diamond, mounted in 18 karat white and blackened gold.

Colour and Clarity: In our opinion, the carved jadeite "wings" are fine translucent to highly translucent, of emerald green colour. Upon close look, there are some dark inclusions and minor cloudy inclusions, which are noticeable in normal distance. Yellow diamonds are probably of medium strong saturation, VS to SI1 clarity. Rose-cut diamonds are about I colour, VS clarity. Other tiny round diamonds are probably of H to I colours, VS clarity. Condition: Fine brooch mount, in very good condition.
