Description

  • Carving approximately 130.00 x 100.00 x 75.00mm; jadeite and icy jadeite beads diameter approximately 20.50 and 2.75mm; coloured beads approximately 7.20 to 7.00mm.
The garlic cloves of graduated sizes, the translucent jadeite carving of celadon tone with patches of deep honey yellow colour, delightfully decorated with a miniature chicken gripping on a scallion, accompanied by a brownish cord strung with a jadeite bead, fringing five cords decorated by thirty-nine multi-coloured jadeite beads, anchored by numerous mini icy jadeite beads tassels.

Condition

Colour and Clarity: In our opinion, carving is translucent to semi-translucent, of celadon tone with patches of deep honey yellow colour. There are a few natural surface reaching but shallow rips or cracks in hidden position to the side and bottom, which do not affect the general appearance and integrity of the carving. In a way, these rips also replicate the natural look of garlic. Jadeite beads on tassel are of various hues, including apple green, honey yellow, brownish to orangy red, light purple and icy colours. Overall, these beads are semi-transparent to translucent. Condition: Nice craftsmanship, clever use of natural colours and the contrast between matt and polished finish to present the subject. Accompanied by a wooden stand, all in excellent condition.
