Description

Set to the front with a fringe of fifteen pear-shaped diamonds together weighing approximately 13.85 carats, suspended from an articulated straight-line necklace composed of brilliant-cut diamonds, spaced by similarly-cut diamond-set bars, the diamonds together weighing approximately 12.00 carats, mounted in 18 karat white gold, length approximately 420mm.

Condition

Colour and Clarity: Four largest pear-shaped diamonds to the front are certified. According to GIA reports, three diamonds are of D colour, VS2 clarity; one is of E colour, VS1 clarity. Please refer to the reports for details. In our opinion, all pear diamonds have pleasing outline and good brilliance. The smaller pear diamonds and round diamonds are of similar quality. Condition: Classic design, the entire necklace is articulated and sits well on neck. Minor abrasions and signs of wear to the metal, otherwise in very good condition.
In response to your inquiry, we are pleased to provide you with a general report of the condition of the property described above. Since we are not professional conservators or restorers, we urge you to consult with a restorer or conservator of your choice who will be better able to provide a detailed, professional report. Prospective buyers should inspect each lot to satisfy themselves as to condition and must understand that any statement made by Sotheby's is merely a subjective qualified opinion. Illustrations in the catalogue may not be actual size. Prospective purchasers are reminded that, unless the catalogue description specifically states that a stone is natural, we have assumed that some form of treatment may have been used and that such treatment may not be permanent. Our presale estimates reflect this assumption.
NOTWITHSTANDING THIS REPORT OR ANY DISCUSSIONS CONCERNING CONDITION OF A LOT, ALL LOTS ARE OFFERED AND SOLD "AS IS" IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CONDITIONS OF SALE PRINTED IN THE CATALOGUE.

Catalogue Note

Accompanied by four GIA reports stating that the 2.48, 1.51, 1.37 and 1.01 carat diamonds are D to E colour, VS1 to VS2 clarity.
