PINK SAPPHIRE AND DIAMOND RING

Estimate
190,000 - 250,000 HKD
bidding is closed

Description

Centring on a rectangular cushion-shaped pink sapphire weighing 4.99 carats, surrounded by brilliant-cut diamonds and rose-cut diamonds, supported by a brilliant-cut diamond-set basket extending to the shank, the diamonds together weighing approximately 1.10 carats, mounted in 18 karat white gold.

Condition

Colour and Clarity: According to GRS report, the pink sapphire is natural, of Sri Lankan origin, with no indication of thermal treatment. Please refer to the report for details. In our opinion, the pink sapphire shows a medium strong, purplish pink colour, clean to naked eyes, sweet and lively stone. Under 10x loupe, there is only a fingerprint cutting from girdle into the table, otherwise very clean. Diamonds in the surround are probably of G colour, VS clarity. Condition: Fine and delicate ring mount, in mint condition.
In response to your inquiry, we are pleased to provide you with a general report of the condition of the property described above. Since we are not professional conservators or restorers, we urge you to consult with a restorer or conservator of your choice who will be better able to provide a detailed, professional report. Prospective buyers should inspect each lot to satisfy themselves as to condition and must understand that any statement made by Sotheby's is merely a subjective qualified opinion. Illustrations in the catalogue may not be actual size. Prospective purchasers are reminded that, unless the catalogue description specifically states that a stone is natural, we have assumed that some form of treatment may have been used and that such treatment may not be permanent. Our presale estimates reflect this assumption.
NOTWITHSTANDING THIS REPORT OR ANY DISCUSSIONS CONCERNING CONDITION OF A LOT, ALL LOTS ARE OFFERED AND SOLD "AS IS" IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CONDITIONS OF SALE PRINTED IN THE CATALOGUE.
