FIRE OPAL AND COLOURED DIAMOND 'TREE' BROOCH

Modelled as a tree, the trunk set with carved fire opal weighing approximately 12.50 carats, supporting the textured branches set with oscillating coloured diamonds, the leaves pavé-set with brilliant-cut diamonds and numerous coloured diamonds and sapphires, the diamonds together weighing approximately 5.30 carats, mounted in 18 karat blackened gold. 

Colour and Clarity: In our opinion, the irregular tumbled fire opal replicates a lively tree trunk, of strong orange colour with noticeable play-of-colour. Coloured diamonds are of various hues, including light to strong yellow, greenish yellow, deep brownish yellow, yellowish orange, medium brown, brownish red and very light pink colours. Overall, they are in VS to SI clarity. Other near-colourless round diamonds are probably of J to tinted colours, VS to SI clarity. Condition: Some diamonds set on the stalk are articulated, overall in very good condition.
